Highcliffe Food & Arts Festival 2020
Postponed until Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2020
It is with great regret that the Committee and the Directors of the Highcliffe Food and Arts Festival have to announce the postponement of its event due to take place this summer.
With the continued progress of the coronavirus, we feel it would not be responsible to host the event at this time and it is better to take the decision now rather than cancel at shorter notice. We have particularly taken into account the latest government advice around social distancing measures as the peak of the Covid-19 epidemic in the UK is projected to coincide with the timing of our Festival in June.
Although many people have been eagerly anticipating the festival, and a great deal of work has gone into its preparation, the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, participants, volunteers and traders alike, must be uppermost in our plans.
Because of the overwhelming interest in this year’s event, with record trade stalls and increased participation from our local celebrity chefs and our fantastic entertainment program, we have taken the decision rather than cancel altogether for this year to hold the festival instead on the weekend of the 19th and 20th September 2020. The majority of the activities already advertised will still take place with our celebrity TV chef Jean-Christophe Novelli scheduled now for Sunday 20th September.
On behalf of the Directors and Committee of the Highcliffe Food and Arts Festival, we sincerely hope you all stay fit and healthy during this unprecedented period of uncertainty in our country and look forward to seeing you all in September when hopefully we will be starting to get back to normal. If the situation changes in anyway we will keep you updated via the website and social media.
